Anyone tried them?

I've got a new Rx, and don't want to fork a lot of money out on new glasses, as I will be wearing contacts the majority of the time.

They do 5 pair trials for free, sent to your home. $95 (135 for high index) seems hard to beat.

Plus, the whole social responsiblity yada yada yada (they give one pair to charity for each bought) (does that mean I'm paying 2x too much?? )

I found these guys about 2 years ago and everything I've heard or read about them seems completely legit. Their demand must have spiked a while back because when it finally came time to get trial pairs I ended up staying on a waiting list for quite a while.

That page had me LOLing last night. The tongue in cheek factor is super high.

My fiance got glasses from there and loved them. Getting them in the mail and being able to try them on was great. She tried on all the different pairs and went with one that she didn't think she would've initially.

The glasses seem to be pretty good construction, don't feel cheap or anything. I'm thinking about picking up a pair to have as a backup or to carry around in my work bag.

^Whoa nice.

No I never did end up purchasing from them. I was waiting for insurance to kick in because I thought I was going to get a super awesome vision plan, but it turns out it's not super awesome. Some doctors get annoyed when you ask for your PD so I've been hesitant in asking around for just an eye exam.
