When robberies by males with dark complexions only happened at night. I miss you NC State.

When the UNC Charlotte Police Department verifies that a serious incident has occurred that could impact the University community, we issue an advisory to increase everyone’s awareness and safety.

Date/Time: 06/02/2011 Approximately 2:15 PM
Location: West Deck
Incident: Armed Robbery of a Vehicle
Suspect Info: Black Male with pronounced nose 6’00”-6’03” skinny build, wearing bright red striped shirt, jean shorts with grey or blue pin stripes and a white hat armed with silver revolver.
Summary: Suspect displayed a silver revolver and took the vehicle from owner. Suspect was last seen leaving West Deck traveling in the direction of Toby Creek Rd. on Cameron Blvd.

For your safety:
· Walk/jog/bike in groups in clear, well-lighted, well-traveled area.
· Avoid using headphones or cell phones, which distract the listener and are popular robbery items.
· Avoid wearing flashy or expensive jewelry; wait until you are inside a safe place/event to put it on.
· On campus after dark, use one of the 300+ “blue light” emergency phones to request an escort or report suspicious activities.
· Ask to have a safety program presented to your campus department/organization, residence hall, class, or other group (large or small).
· If you are alone, call the UNC Charlotte Parking and Transportation Services Safe Ride free safety escort service at 704-687-5636 or use the free on-campus CATS shuttle bus. .
