Uhhhhh. I don't know how to approach this question. I've seen it here and there on credit card statements and fine print, but now I'm seeing ordinary folks writing it in comments.

Why are people using commas instead of periods in percentages?

For example:
I would write 2.9%.

The new fad people:
one would write 2,9%

Any explanation?

Intentionally pretending to be ignorant for months at a time so that people come into your thread and say "You are dumb" is not trolling? Sure its the lowest of all lowbrow... but its still trolling. Take anything DNL posted in the soap box... drop it down 3 levels and you have this kind of shit. Same from lafta or pyderi or whoever the other one that still does this shit 24/7

I fail to see how this thread is dumb.

If you had any experience with legal contracts, a symbol can change the entire meaning of a number or sentence. It's the difference between nude and naked. They're practically the same thing until you know the fine differences in the details. They don't just make up two words with the same exact meaning for no reason... unless you're using two difference systems of languages.

^^*different*

anyway you may have also been confused when people write 1325 (British usage) for what you may understand to be 1:25PM

or when people write Sunday 19 June 2011 or 19-6-2011 for Sunday, June 19, 2011, or 6/19/2011 (the 146th anniversary of Juneteenth)

Did the bank take your pizza place because you used decimal commas instead of the radix point?

Sounds like someone fiddled with their own internal regional settings.
