Job Title: Financial Accounting - Staff Accounting - Energy Accounting (ENO) Location: Raleigh/Durham Full-Time Regular/Temporary: Regular Job Description: To fulfill Head Office financial reporting and local regulatory reporting requirements, analyze financial results, and maintain the books and records for CS's Amercas Energy (Commodities) entities, in the most accurate and efficient manner.
- Responsible for providing monthly financial reporting and analysis of the balance sheet and P/L to Head office and Financial Accounting management. - Responsible for monthly financial reporting package and discussion of results in detail with senior FA management. - Develop strong working relationship with product control to better understand the p/l and balance sheet movements and current market trends. - Work closely with Head Office reporting group, Tax, Regulatory, Operations on a continuous basis to facilitate reporting. - Provide financial analytics and commentary. - Work closely with head office group and Product Control to ensure proper account classification. If any, identify account mis-mappings and ensure that proper reclass journals are posted timely. - Responsible for contributing to month-end close, account ownership, external financial statements and regulatory reports for the CS Energy business. - Candidate should be control-oriented and have an ability to effectively interface with both internal and external audit as required
Department Overview Credit Suisse's Financial Accounting function is responsible for external and regulatory reporting functions as well as overseeing the accounting books and records of the Firm's numerous legal entities. The Financial Accounting group in the Shared Services function has ultimate responsibility to the Chief Financial Officer in ensuring that the financial statements of the firm are timely and accurate. This role is part of the team which completes the reporting for US and Canadian Energy (Commodities) business units.
Qualifications Essential: 1 to 3 years experience in Public or Corporate Accounting environment. Desirable: Investment banking experience, with knowledge of commodities related products and accounting.
Essential: Efficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with Financial analysis experience in MS Excel and Access Strong analytical skills Strong problem solving skills Strong time management skills Team player Self-motivated / self starting Strong communication skills — oral and written Detail-oriented

ok, I know there has been at least one successful hire as a result of this thread and we have another position opening up in FA, so I figured i'll post it. The job rec is similar to the one posted above, but a little more senior, and focused in the mortgages/derivs business. Looking for 3-5 years experience.
