Vegans not only don't eat meat, they eat nothing that is a by-product of an animal (Milk, cheese, honey, ect)

You're closer. It doesn't really matter where it is prepared, as long as there is nothing from an animal in it.

Most marshmallow recipes/ingredients makes them off limits to vegans or even vegetarians, depending on how strict they are.
