My wife and I are refinancing our home, but our mortgage guy did it in just my name. When we bought the house, both of our names were on the loan.

Both of our names were, and will be on the deed.

Question is, will this hurt her credit, since I put pretty much all of the bills we have in my name when we bought the house? We are still in the middle of the refinancing process... would it even be possible to put her name on the mortgage refinance at this point?

Anything is possible, you can tell him to add her back in if you want. It just may delay the closing date if the loan package has already gone out and been approved.

As for the credit, there are a million different opinions on the matter. It's going to depend on what else she has in her name and the available balances and so on. I left my wife's name off ours but she stopped working and had no substantial income to claim at the time.

I have no idea, but I'd search http://www.clarkhoward.com/categories/homes-real-estate/loan-modifications-refinancing

or call the show
