However, I just want to clarify that it appears that those remarks were made by a 12-year-old child before a lesson about Dr. King. The article was about the teacher's lesson planning, and his first step was to gauge the understanding of the class by asking them briefly to list some things they already thought they knew:

It's still somewhat depressing or whatever, but that picture looks like a grown lady who is confidently reporting to a newspaper what she knows about Dr. King. In fact, it's a child who is just throwing something out there to help her teacher present a lesson.
