Can't actually film that. Too small. All they do is aline in a certain way, it's not particularly exciting. As water approaches freezing it continues to contract up to a point then begins expanding from maximum density though it's not actually freezing yet, right around 4 °C.

i'd cut open a dvd writer and see if i can film it working in slow motion.

I'd film a saw blade cutting wood just to see chip theory.

I'd film a mill for the same reason

I'd film a fluorescent light starting just to see if the light starts at one end and travels to the other.

i'd film an incandescent doing the same thing to see if the filament warms up evenly or not.

I'd film a print head doing its thing on a printer.

I have a number of high speed cameras at work. I will consider filming one choice suggestion from this thread. I can go 800x600 resolution at 10,000 fps.
