here is whats up, my boyfriend's mom has been getting weird/creepy voicemails the past day/few hours from a phone number 661-380-3000

they seem to be posing as law enforcement and give a number to call back 312-384-8063

the messages are a little garbled and difficult to hear but it's freaking the bfs mom out (and for good reason)

a quick google search on the numbers didnt turn back much. the number they're calling from is linked to a youtube about Microsoft virus stuff but that doesn't match the content of the voicemails but they could have changed tactics.

i was hoping tww sleuths could find something. maybe what these numbers are linked to so she can get some peace of mind of it it is related to something more serious that she needs to go to the authorities about (which i already told her to call whatever police dept they're claiming to be from to report the call and give them the number)

Just fess up to the fact that you're harassing your bf's mom on the side. She doens't control him, and he'll commit when he's ready.



Also - if this doesn't work just call customer service to the cell phone provider, tell them to look at the account from the most recent received call and have them walk through the process of blocking the number. It involves a star code depending on your provider, i.e. enter *XX [number] on the keypad.

Let's consolidate guys. The 661 number is a Skype number so it is arbitrary. The second number is where they want her to call. It looks like people received calls from the actual 312 number:

Yeah, that's probably all your going to get on that number, however you can sleep easy knowing that it appears to be recent and someone else has confirmed the same scam, which means it's not personal. Since the confirming report was posted on the Fourth I'd assume a multitude of other people have also had this problem.
