Since South Korea gets the winter olympics in 2018, North Korea is all like "YOU GUYS HOSTIN THE OLYMPICS? CUZ WE'LL HOST THE OLYMPICS!"

Seems to me that deciding to host an event like the Olympics anywhere on the Korean peninsula was a very risky idea. Pyongyang could throw the whole thing off by throwing a temper tantrum.

North Korea has been kept on a leash by China and I doubt they'd want them distracting from the possible worldwide athletic attention China could get from a good performance.

Not to mention, they had the World Cup in South Korea in 2002 with no problems.

North Korea (DPRK) recognizes South Korea (RoK), has several trade agreements with them, and lets RoK tourists and workers into their borders on a semi-routine basis.

If you apply for the right visas and programs, there is a chance, yes.

You are not a RoK citizen though, so your chances are almost 0.

Also, if you ever do the DMZ tour, you do cross into DPRK when you walk around the conference room at the JSA.
