35th worst dressed city!
Quote : | "35. Raleigh
If you're in Raleigh, your shit better have pleats. It's basically the town's mascot. And here's it's unofficial motto: "The world is your golf course." Southern bankers cruise from home to work and back home to change out of their off-the-rack, BOGO suits and into amoeboid polo shirts and hippy trousers. It's a great city to swoop in for the kill at happy hour. Girls in these bars have never seen a tailored anything, so it's easy to turn a head.—Andrew Richdale" |

surprise surprise carpetbagger mentality deglamorizing southern charm as being too casual when they WISH they could be as sperry-topsider and croakie as me!
Let's go wear our ironic sunglasses and bring our hipster coozies to this upcoming [abstract sporting event], but make sure you don't wear socks

When you look near the top of the list and see Miami and Manhattan there, it kind of makes you wonder. I mean, where in the U.S. are you going to find good fashion, when L.A., San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, and two of New York's major boroughs are on the list? Almost every major city is listed. Maybe this just speaks more to the poor general fashion in the U.S. than any city in particular. 7/15/2011 4:56:21 PM |

villainous vs. courtly
the gauche ill-mannered fashion from the country came from "village"
and the refined manner of dress came from the king's court - hence
we've been following these general views of urban-population center superiority since medieval times
so GQ believes that people from the city dress better than people from the country
I live in Miami and am undecided on this. Either way lick my balls. 7/15/2011 5:01:52 PM |

Honestly this improves my opinion of raleigh. High fashion is a fucking waste of money unless it's something that really interests you. 7/15/2011 8:01:11 PM |
