Moving back to Raleigh in 12 weeks to start back at NCSU to finish up my CSC degree.

Give me advice on any subject you feel relevant. Where to meet people, how to get back into good study habits, what's changed in raleigh from about 4 years ago, etc

Get a CSC internship or pick up some small dev jobs (probably end up doing them for cheap) on craigslist. Having real world experience is key to getting a good first job out of college.

since you're 21+, it should be very easy to hookup with 18-20 year old split-tail.

It's so much easier in your late 20s because you can focus on class instead of thinking about ass the whole time.

I went back to school after a 4-year hiatus last fall. Was told by pretty much every adult that I talked to at NCSU that it was not a good idea to jump back into my particular major and that the success rate for doing so was extremely low. Well that was all I needed to hear and so far I've maintained a 3.5 GPA on the last 3 semesters going full time while also working and doing all the other things I do.

pretty much picked up where I left off. Took half a semester or so to get my mental chops back up but even being out of practice (and my major is very math-intensive) I've found I'm a lot more focused and driven to do well than I was the first time around. I hate that I don't feel quite as "bright" as I did when I was younger, I guess there's something to that youthful "sponge" effect, but what I lost in raw brainpower I've more than made up for with maturity and intelligence.

Just make sure you don't kill yourself that first semester back and you give yourself some time to get back into the swing of things, you'll be aight

^^That, basically.

Don't ask tdub about how to get back into good study habits. Tdub is the anathema of good study habits. Which is why I love it

but seriously - I am an older student working on my master's after having been away from the game for a while....

and yeah...tdub is bad

So I really want a 2 bedroom apt (realistically it's only 150 more than a 1 bedroom) it gives me a room my an office or the ability to pick up a room mate if money gets tight...thoughts?

Don't do it. The last thing we need on this campus is a milf. Stay away. Far Away

take a finance class that teaches you about investing.

not much has changed about raleigh in the last 4 years except the hillsborough st revamp, some bars that have come and gone, and an influx of hipsters.

^^^^^ it is weird to be older than most students, but oh well

what surprises me the most is how few traditional-aged students give any kind of a fuck about anything

even if you consider yourself lazy in general, you will feel very industrious about a month in
