China is retarded for waiting this long to do it. Why in the world would they continue buying U.S. bonds, and why would they continue allowing the RMB/USD currency peg to persist? They're fucking over their own people with these draconian policies.

You'd have to be an absolute lunatic (or an idiot) to believe that the U.S. is good for its debt. We'll either repudiate our debt, or we'll devalue our currency to pay our debt, but we will not enter an age of true austerity to legitimately pay off the debt. Americans don't have the stomach to suffer through decades of high taxes and reduced government services.

We could easily repay our debt, but people like you are utterly dedicated to a bizarre picture of morality where robber barons' wealth should be left untouched. You're right in thinking that normal people in a depressed economy cannot pay off that sum on their own, with the continued full-fledged effort on the part of the upper classes to cannibalize our society.

Have you not actually looked at the numbers, dude? You're confirming, here, that you haven't, and are intentionally staying ignorant. You could tax the ultra rich at 100% and our debt still can't be paid off. Besides...the real "ultra rich" can't be taxed.

I'm absolutely convinced that you understand next to nothing about our banking system. If you did, you'd be railing against it.

Interest rates are AT ZERO and our debt is still increasing at 1-1.5 trillion every year. There is no exit. There is only default.

If the United States was a person, our credit would already be shot to hell. Creditors would be trying to figure out how to get as much of their money back as possible, and wouldn't extend any more credit for years to come.

Fuck China? For what? Lending a bunch of spendthrifts money? For fucking over their own people so that Americans (us) could get cheap goods?

I mean, this is the equivalent of maxing out 5 credit cards, quitting your job, and saying, "Hey, fuck you credit card companies! Why'd you lend me all this money!?"
