my favorite is on the weight loss shows (like biggest loser and extreme makeover weight loss edition) when the person gets weighed for the first time and they're in utter shock that they weigh as much as they do. they're like, "oh i didn't think it was THAT much"

i don't understand how someone could gain weight to the point where they're out of touch with how much they weigh. i guess it's kind of like anorexics but reverse - maybe the person doesn't see the weight gain on themselves compared to how others see it?
