don't know if that worked, but it was at the Harris Teeter in Cameron Village- they had cases of BL for 13.88, and 18-packs were 13.99... yet they were almost out of 18 packs and had plenty of cases left, and while standing there, I saw someone come and pick up an 18 pack over the case

Was the 18 bottles? If its just two of us, I'd prefer 18 bottles over 24 cans.

When you're talking about swill like BL or ML it doesn't matter if it's a can or bottle.

And this time of year is pool season and it's frowned upon to take bottles to the pool.

dont know if that works, but i found the pricing of this deodorant to be poorly planned out.

^^^haha I don't think you can call it "swill" when you still readily purchase the stuff (last time a checked, we all still drink domestic lights at tailgates and parties)

If cans were better than bottles, bars would serve them more often than the occasional tallboy or PBR.

People prefer bottles, goddammit. I'm not really even willing to argue that.

i don't... i drink domestics though at tailgates... not so much parties.
certainly not BYOB events

If i have to drink light beer its miller, bud light tastes like someone took a beer and dumped 4 oz of sugar water in it.

Can's aren't perceived as classy.

just look at the bar in charlotte that closed called cans...

no class there.

it's all phallic for you folks

cans are better for the beer (completely shield it from light, completely sealed, and they cool down faster)

you should be pouring your beers into pint glasses anyway!

that being said, I prefer glass bottles myself

but this is why oskar blues and avery are making the strong push to can good beers

I don't. I usually bring a six pack of something decent and then drink that. If we're out for an extended time, though, I will switch to a bud select or something else.

I got nuggets just the other day after not having eaten McDonald's (besides breakfast) in many years.

They were the disappoint.

I think they're supposed to be "more healthy" now or something.

reading comprehension fail there- I said in my next post that they were both cans (and as you can see in the pic, it is cans). And in my experience, bottles are typically more expensive

^^haha I was referring to tke-teg specifically, as well as the rest of our friends irl. I do know some people do bring good beers to parties and tailgates (hell, I usually bring one or two)

I get shit for taking anything of a higher quality than a domestic light beer to tailgates.

I don't drink light beer in any other scenario, I don't know why I should feel compelled because of some trucks and Bojangles.

haha well when I'm only going to be having 3-6 beers, I want good stuff... but parties and tailgates, I'm looking more at 12-24+ beers, so I like having a light beer. better on the stomach, head, and less of a hangover the next day - also better for chugging and drinking games (and no, I don't think I'm too old for drinking games )

The only good beer I don't get shit for bringing to a tailgate is Duck-Rabbit Milk Stout, because I have a bunch of redneck Farmville friends who make exception for Duck-Rabbit.

The other weekend we ran a three day sale on Nat Lt suitcases for $9.99, so of course I didn't worry much about keeping a lot of extra 12 and 18 packs, and I'll be damned if I didn't run out of 18 pack cans in one store with their price being about $10.50.

everyone I know has always been referring a 24 pack when using the term "suitcase"

since that is the largest we can get around here, most people just call it a case

most 30packs are doublewides, and the 24packs look more like a suitcase (one layer), which is where it originated (or so I have been told). It is all moot though...

yeah 30-packs were always "Cubes"

and while doing beer samplings, it drives me crazy when we run the $13.88/24packs and $13.99/18packs deal and people are like, "I dont need to get that much beer, I wont drink it all"

come on man, you can buy the 24pack for cheaper and give away the "extra" six beers. Hell, you can throw them away if you want, its still cheaper

I never understood this. It's not like beer goes bad in the fridge really, unless you're keeping it in there for years but then why are you buying beer in the first place?

I think a lot of times it's people with drinking problems who avoid 24 pks.
