Mmmmm can't wait for this to open up so I can spend too much money on fried chicken

For real though, I'm stoked.

I wouldn't be surprised at all that people pretend to know her to get seated more quickly at Poole's. I had people try to pull that crap on me when I worked at Waraji.

Except the people who work there (especially the hosts) know the people who know her, so that shit doesn't fly.

What's with pretentious capitilization of words in that article like "The Curious" or "Massive Glitch". Am I missing something or is that completely unnecessary.

Eh, "Indy Week" is a shortened version of the mag's proper name, so that flies.

The effort to add gravity to a phrase like "Massive Glitch" by capitalizing it is a little silly, but I wouldn't call it pretentious.

I LOVE fried chicken as well. I also think I could eat my weight in garlic herb rotisserie chicken. That is a lot of chicken.

[Edited on August 12, 2011 at 1:42 PM. Reason : usually I HATE fried foods but chicken just is yum.]

FWIW, we had our Christmas party at Poole's, and one of the large dishes at the buffet-style dinner was the chicken they're making at Beasley's.

I can say, without hesitation, that it is the finest fried chicken I have ever had in my life. Holy shit.

Beasley's is already getting tweet whored by people who just want attention, RT's, and new followers.

An early success, I'll call it.

I'm hoping for some salmon beignets.

Except not, because salmon is disgusting.

^^^ Chalkboard menus suggest that, like Poole's, some things will rotate in/out on a daily/weekly basis. Could be wrong, but we'll see. Poole's menu has never been online.

^^ lol

I'm also interested in checking out this cocktail bar. Will it be better than Foundation? Seems like you can just go get some fried chicken and sneak on over to the bar for drinks. No need to go anywhere else.

the menu is pretty simple. Fried chicken and sides. that's it. the sides will change.

and the liquor bar is a pretty big space, bigger than Foundation and Neptune's.

I'm interested in the bar as well. As much as I like Foundation, I can't justify their prices most nights.

eh, I have a feeling it'll fall victim to the pretentious food fad sweeping our nation... (though I hope not).

You know what I mean.

The place that has diced hand-breaded breast of free-range hen, rolled in a light corn stuffing and dusted with sea salt and fresh-cracked peppercorns, served with a ramequin of mustard-inspired gravy that has been infused with a hint of local honey.

Instead of what that shit really is. Chicken fingers and honey mustard.

We'll see. I'll give it a shot. But if one single person closes their eyes when describing something and ends every sentence with a damn question mark, then I'm leaving.

considering we probably don't visit the same establishments, you go right ahead and enjoy your sweet legume salsa, finely chopped and whipped until creamy, paired well with seasonal fruit compote and 9-grain house-baked bread. Just don't let anyone find out you're actually just eating PB&J.

ITT AxlBonBach doesn't know what "diced" means

also, look at the fucking menu posted above

QUARTER FRIED CHICKEN

FRIED CHICKEN BISCUIT

FRIED CHICKEN AND WAFFLES + HONEY

pretty self explanatory and none of the flowery language you claim to hate

rant = misplaced

Mr. Joshua, are those the only 3 main orders you can make? Quarter chicken, chx biscuit, and chx/waffle? (also it looks like it mentions that the chicken waffles are only for "late night")
