For you office dwellers, do you get that daily afternoon crash? I'm so much more productive from 7-1 than I am 2-5..

What do you do to alleviate/avoid it?

I frequently do, especially with this sinus pressure weather today. It helps if I can run a little at lunch, but I barely have time for that. Today my fix was espresso but it's not doing much.

I do if I eat a big lunch, but if I do the more snacking/grazing thing I stay pretty consistent most of the time.

I'm pretty much useless after 3:30 regardless. methinks the workday should be from 10-3:30

3-3:30pm crash daily. not much can alleviate it unless i'm on a big deadline. 3:30-5:30 is the slowest block of time ever.

isn't this exactly how the 5 hour energy commercials go?

maybe y'all should try 5 hour energy.

More productive in the afternoon/evening, always stay later then most....probably due to less distractions.

I normally hit the wall around 3-3:30. Luckily I leave the office at 4 everyday, so I can usually just coast from 3:30-4 and hit the road

I crash around 2:00-2:30 and drink a big (24oz) coffee. Keeps me going till 5:00 and I usually spend 5-whenever I leave talking about work, usually leave at 6:13.

Yea but only if I eat a large lunch. A small/medium lunch does not do this.

Also kinda helps that I stopped caffeine. No morning surge from the coffee followed by letdown in the afternoon. Plus I leave before 4, so that helps.

I don't leave for lunch, so that makes my 2-5 all the more sucky

i drink a soda or a coffee but other than that from like 2 (and definitely 3) to 5 my productivity slows WAY down

i agree - after 3:30 i'm pretty much just like, ok one more hour, then 30 minutes of dicking around/getting ready to leave. after 3:30 unless it is really busy, i'm totally useless.

i crash around 230-330 usually. eating keeps me awake...but that would also make me fat, so i chew a shit ton of gum. if it's really bad i'll get up & walk to the copier for no reason other than to move around a bit, go chat w/ the bookkeeper, or throw a bouncy ball at a coworker & hope it gets returned so we can play paddle ball (we have a container of ~500 bouncy balls & everybody has a wood product sample they hit them with). we break shit, but not nearly as much as when bossman gets in on it.
