All-day pass in the pay deck by the EBs went from $6 ($1/hr with $2 first hour) to $10 ($2/hr). That's absolutely ridiculous.

Need to get my bike running right asap.

why does it cost so much to park in a spot that doesn't require any resources and is reusable?

Why do you ask stupid ass questions? The deck wasnt free to build and no college campus allows you to park on campus for free. There are obviously not 30K parking spaces on campus to support staff and student parking. How do you own a business and not understand shit like this.

Why would you refuse service to somebody who sits in front of your cash register?

You are either really as stupid as you seem, or the best troll on the internet

I understand business and I know that $10 per space multiplied by HOW MANY SPACES? = too much revenue/taking advantage of commuters

^^^ Wow, this thread is showing idiocracy.

1) The person who made the comment didn't pick up on why something that doesn't cost any resources and is reusable cost more than say 2 subway footlong sandwiches or a dinner at ruby tuesdays. Sure you can say ruby tuesdays has free parking AND you get a meal, too. What do you get at a parking garage?

2) The person that laughed at it used "lolski". I can picture almost all the characters in idiocracy laughing as something as stupid as an insult that has conceived by the mind of a two year old.

I know you gotta be trolling but this is retarded. Some of those decks cost like ~20k a parking spot to build (I think the sign that used to be outside the reynolds addition said it was 26mil for an extra 1200 spots or something). Where exactly do you get the idea that its free? Also, they have ongoing insurance, lighting, and maintenance cost. Some decks have giant air handlers running to get rid of carbon monoxide. Shit costs money son.

Glad I never paid a dime to park there while I was in school. Is the basketball hoop still on top of the Redhat side of the deck?

They have 19,000 parking spaces.

times $10 per day

times 365 days a year = $69,350,000

If they max out their parking, they've paid for their garage 3 times.

A usual business takes 5 years to break even.

Now, assuming they only fill up 1/3 the parking spaces per year, it'll take them 3 years to pay off.

Parking garages last at least 50 years with minimal repairs.

This cost is negligible compared to how much money they're bringing in.

Do you guys even try to follow your money?

I mean, have you tracked where your tuition money goes? How many countless things the school spends your money on that you'll never use or need?

Good luck securing those funds

What's funny is, you're paying all that money, and you probably won't make enough money over your entire lifetime to pay for 1/20th of a parking garage.

Too much revenue? we all know that you dont have this problem. Did you go to college? Have you ever been on a college campus?

Quote :
"They have 19,000 parking spaces. "

19,000 spaces of which most are allocated to PARKING PERMITS that cost ~300 a year
there are a limited number of parking decks that are pay lots, and these are in very high demand. Should i explain supply and demand to you? You obviously dont understand because you opened a pizza place, of which there is never an overwhelming demand for, and the supply of pizza places is pretty high everywhere.

Once again, have you ever been on a college campus? subtract weekends, holidays, after hours parking, and when school isnt in session you can park anywhere. They may have 200 billable days a year

holy shit you are stupid, i bet you wrote your business plan in crayon on the back of a coloring book. Wait, scratch that, i doubt you know what a business plan is.
