we got our dog back from being nuetered. hes had the cone of shame on for like 8 days, so we look at his ears because he was scratchin at one pretty hard. his right ear is really red and the other one is completly fine. has any other dog owners ever had this go on, what was it and howd u treat it.

Your dog is scratching his ear which is making it red. No huge deal. Move along.

Dog must have some long arms to be reaching around that cone and scratching his ears.

it's a common condition called Sympathetic Neuter Ear, where one or both ears of a canine become inflamed due to the sudden hormonal imbalance, which leads to a body heat venting issue that leads to too much blood pushing through the thin membranes of the ear

Dogs, like humans, can scratch both the inside and outside of their ear. Cats can do it too for future reference.

My dog gets yeast infections in his ear sometimes.

He's a basset hound, so the heavy ears don't allow for much ventilation.

One gets all red and itches him like crazy.
