So many things go on with a team year to year that to expect because a guy had a good year last year that he'll be good again the next year is mildly retarded.

I mean, go back a decade and ask the team that lost the superbowl how they did the following year, and that's just one example.

The dozen or so consistent players you can point to are outnumbered by the masses of inconsistent others due to a variety of factors (coaching changes, draft, free agency, injury, etc.

Not true at all, if you look at running backs having underwhelming seasons compared with their previous STELLAR performances (I'm thinking of Chris Johnson, Adrian Peterson of late)

I suppose you can argue that the running back flameout in and of itself is a trend
