And go. Need one this afternoon, because I have a match.

Cardinal is shit. There's a really good one that I've used, but can't recall the name. They actually show up when you ask them to and have only charged $5/head for longer trips with multiple people

^^^haha... uhh
^^I have one. But since I'll be having a few drinks and the gestapo is out raising revenue via illegal check-points, I figured I'd forgo the opportunity to have my constitutional rights stripped from me and possibly be hassled because I've had a few drinks.

Trivia taxi - they're pretty cool

Cardinal does suck. If you live off or near Linberry they will try to take you down Avent Ferry and Western to get to downtown rather than Lake Wheeler.

Buahahahahaha.

You are an arrogant fuck if you think the police is the "gestapo" because they're pulling assholes over for drinking too much and driving.

Have you done that Gotchacab? what is the gimmick behind it?

sure did

the gimmick is he's a guy with a van with all the seats torn out and reinstalled so they go around the van like a limo. he's got musical instruments, two mics, and encourages everyone to pick one up and jam out.

and he's ridiculously cheap. for a birthday it's one hell of a way to get home (we did it for amy's birthday). he even stopped on the way taking us home and bought us water and popcorn. nice guy.

what does pulling over someone on the suspicion of drunk driving have to do with a check-point? they are two very different things, one of which is perfectly legal, while the other is not.

And have you ever heard of name calling/exaggerating? The name is used for effect, not because one believes said person is that name.

HAHAHA.

They decided that when these checks are preformed with minimal intrusion under specified guidelines, the benefit of these checkpoints greatly outweighs the minor intrusion on individual's rights."

took the trivia cab a few weeks ago...pretty fun, like cash cab. If you get like 5 of 6 questions right your trip is free. They break out some impossible questions if you get close though

and I second gary, he's a cool dude.

1. Befriend an Asian
2. Tell Asian friend they suck at drinking (don't confuse with driving)
3. ...
4. Free DD... Profit!

Although, be prepared for any one of these scenarios. They are not mutually exclusive to each other.
1. Asian takes 15 minutes to park, will cause issues if you drive to each bar.
2. Asian takes risky driving maneuvers while passengers are intoxicated, drifting is a certain possibility either that or curb hopping; there is no middle ground, normal Asian driving.
3. You will not understand the words coming out of the Asian's mouth.

If you get an Asian that qualifies all three scenarios, find a new Asian. There's plenty of them out there.

In any regards, I'm probably available, but I do forewarn that I have raced a cop while passengers were under the influence.

I'm tempted to try that new Taxi Taxi service but I imagine they're expensive.

I had one cabbie tell me that the rates are the same for all cabs that use meters. Something like $1.75 for pickup and $2/mile. Does that sound right?

I've witnessed many a pissed off cab driver bitching about taking a credit card when their dispatcher says they take credit cards. I'd imagine that by paying with a card we're reducing their ability to get $ under the table, which explains why some of them get so irate. Don't matter to me buddy. Drag that 20 year old card copier thing out from under your seat so we can both get on our way.

how some of these taxi services still do not have automated credit card machines baffles me. i've hailed cabs numerous times only to wave them away once i see they don't have a credit card computer hooked up. In Charlotte they are finally in almost every single cab so it's no longer a problem.

I think some of these cab drivers probably don't like them because it allows the passenger to tip the correct 15-20% instead of drunkenly handing the driver 40-50%+ tip in cash.
