didn't see a thread for it... anyway, I know some of yall are under the belief that things that you saw as kids don't need to be remade, but I'm interested in seeing how they did with this one. piddlebug wants to see it tomorrow evening, so I think we will go check it out and I was just wondering if any of yall had seen it already, and if so, what you thought 8/20/2011 9:20:34 PM |

I saw it last night. It's no blockbuster, but I was entertained. 8/20/2011 10:42:28 PM |

This only made 10 million bucks on opening weekend?!
Man what a disaster. I haven't seen it yet and I kinda want to, but jeez talk about an epic box office failure. 8/22/2011 7:15:56 PM |

Yikes... 90 million in production costs too. They'd be lucky to gross half that. I like how the media hypes the fact that it made more money on open box office than the original even though they didn't factor in inflation of 1982 currency (133.53%). 8/22/2011 7:29:30 PM |

The original also didn't have the remake hype factor going for it. 8/22/2011 7:35:55 PM |

that is pretty disappointing, i saw it yesterday and i was very entertained. It was exactly what it should have been- fighting, blood, guts, tits. Don't go in expecting anything more (i don't know what more you could want from a Conan movie)

I think most people realized they'd be better off just watching Game of Thrones again and saving themselves $10. 8/22/2011 8:15:05 PM |

haha well as you can tell, she loved it
I was impressed too- a lot better than I was expecting, and they get it going in the first couple of minutes to set the tone for the rest of the movie. I highly suggest it! 8/26/2011 8:56:37 AM |

a friend of mine worked on the editing for it and gave it pretty good reviews.
i'll check it out eventually. i've got other movies that i would much rather see right now...and seeing movies with Justin was already hard, but I'm finding seeing a movie with a baby is much more difficult
and we can't mention this movie without a picture of the star

Quote : | "Stan Lee Media, Inc., a company founded by comic book legend Stan Lee, wants a judge to rule that it is still the rightful owner of the character "Conan the Barbarian." In a lawsuit filed August 19 in federal court in L.A. and obtained by EW, SLMI is demanding 100% of the film's proceeds.
The company claims its bankruptcy in 2001 would have prevented anyone from taking the rights to the Conan character away. In the suit, Stan Lee Media, Inc. claims the company was betrayed by a former lawyer who made an illegal deal to transfer the rights to another company that would latergreen-light this summer's "Conan" movie.
The poorly reviewed remake earned $10 million on its opening weekend, barely beating the debut of the original "Conan the Barbarian" in 1982." |
lol. Some of the comments are funny.
"if I were the filmmaker, I would offer 100% of the profits from the film, then send Stan a bill for 42 mil, the amount the film will lose."
