i wouldn't say he's one of the greatest ever - not even in the top 10, but he's a legend, undoubtedly, especially for his early influence with Cream and the Yardbirds, not to mention how much he recorded on George Harrison's solo work bc Harrison simply wasn't proficient enough to cover the parts - it's not his talent, but his influence, that makes him deserving of accolades

Sure, he ripped off Robert Johnson, Albert King, and other blues greats, but Hendrix lifted licks straight from Buddy Guy...

i agree that eric clapton sucks

all of his songs are classic without actually being classic

to all the people who say hendrix sucks, i don't claim to know the standard for a great guitar player but you can't deny the man had some fucking stage presence.

also, i agree with everybody who say prince is underrated. the dude is a fucking machine. he plays most (if not all) of the instruments on his albums. his songs might not have the widespread appeal like some of clapton's stuff, but you can't deny the man's talent.
