Both the Leesville and SE Raleigh reunions are $40/person. Whatever happened to holding it in the gym and charging a $10 cover? I wonder what other area high schools are charging these days. 8/30/2011 1:41:59 PM

well i was annoyed because they gave 2 options: have it in Louisburg or at Wakefield. well obviously no one wants to freakin go to Louisburg so everyone picked Wakefield. i don't know why other options were not looked into - there's a ton of places that i feel would have been a much better choice (financially) than Wakefield. 8/30/2011 1:44:42 PM

Ours was $60 per person
I didn't go
but it never happened. Our SBP that was organizing it took the money from everyone that paid and went to Hawaii.
Last I heard there was a lawsuit, but I have no idea. 8/30/2011 1:46:09 PM

But what if they don't remember you and don't add you back and their wall is private
Or what if you're like me and you don't add people from high school unless you were good friends with them in the first place?
^ Sounds a lot better than what most schools are doing this year.

I think it's interesting to see how people have changed in 10 years when you've had zero contact with them. Who has become successful that you didn't expect? Who has turned into a burnout druggie that you didn't see coming? Stuff like that. So if the reunion were cheap or free, it'd be worth it to get a brief glimpse into the lives of these people that directly or indirectly impacted your life. But for $40 I'd rather do about a million other things 8/30/2011 1:58:13 PM

I don't know, I just don't see Facebook as being the same. Mostly because it's a super concentrated form of whatever that person wants you to see. I feel like seeing the person in real life is more telling and interesting. 8/30/2011 2:06:58 PM

i'm currently in the midst of setting one up for my class. we're renting out an entire bar just for ourselves from 6-9pm and it's catered. people can feel free to keep hanging out after 9 if they wanted to. we had a deal going where it was like $60 for 2 people if you bought in the first month, and that didn't have to be a date or anything; two random classmates could team up and get a ticket for 30 each (trying to get as many classmates there as possible).
people were still outraged things cost money.

lol well yeah if you're a bitch to people then I could see why reunions wouldn't appeal
^ I think it's because people don't care about it being a private room, fully catered, etc etc. People would be just as content if you had it at Big Boss or Mac's and everything was a la carte.

^^^^ You probably wouldn't talk to those sorts of people at a reunion in the first place. But I can think of plenty of people I was friendly with in classes, but not friends, that I vaguely remember now, that would be worth talking to over a beer. A lot of those people aren't on Facebook or I don't remember their names.
^^ I think you'd be surprised I just found out from a friend that apparently my high school is also doing some picnic in Pullen Park or something that has more people signed up for it than the actual reunion

NBHS Class of '01 was "Tickets are 45 and couple is 85" but it was just cancelled. Today was the due date for money and they said only 3 people sent their's in. lol I'm not surprised. The whole thing was organized by someone I never heard of and everyone posting in the Facebook group were people I had never heard of. It would be nice to go but it was just going to be dinner at The Flame.... lol I'd like it if it was done and organized better, like a fun party, but I dont want to drive down to NC to have dinner with people I don't know at all 8/30/2011 2:17:52 PM

I kinda like remembering HS friends as permanently being 18. Its depressing to think of those same people with receding hairlines, real jobs, families and all the other real world BS. I prefer them to exist only as memories, reminders of a simpler time. Kinda like when someone dies young...you always remember them as the age they died, not how old they would be now. 8/30/2011 2:19:51 PM

mine is $35 pp which includes a signature drink, wine & beer (other mixed drinks are cash bar), buffet dinner & appetizers, location and DJ.
but I won't be able to go wedding that same weekend. I'm surprisingly bummed about it. I never thought I would want to go, but having seen some over the past few years at various things (like weddings! ) I've realized it would be really fun to see everyone together again.
they are also getting together the day before for the homecoming game and going to a bar after where you're on your own.
