So here is the deal. My '67 caddy is having a hard time starting, to the point where I have to manually fill the glass fuel bowl with fresh gas and prime the engine with starter fluid for it to crank. Once started, car runs fine as long as the throttle is increased above idle. However, if you let the car idle long enough (a minute or two) the car will stall. I initially thought the fuel pump had gone bad so I replaced it and placed a new fuel filter in the the glass fuel bowl. I replaced the fuel lines from the bottom of the engine up to the carb. I temporarily ran a new line from a can of fresh gas to pump and car started and ran like a champ. Reconnected the line from the gas tank, back to the same problem.

-Carb seems to be functioning properly, choke pull-off does not have vacuum leak, other vacuum lines on engine are intact.

-Engine is a naturally aspirated 429 v-8 with a rochester 4-bbl carburetor. Car has plenty of air and spark just no fuel getting to engine.

Any thoughts? Fuel lines from tanks pinched/clogged?

I'd suspect dirty fuel lines... Check for leaks, run a few cans of sea foam and see what happens?

Check the line from pump to tank for a damp spot indicative of a pinhole in the steel line. That was the cause of the same symptoms on an old CJ-7.
