oh, it wasn't BAD...i've used peanut butter in hummus before, but not in baba ghanoujit's better suited as a substitute in the hummus

Kudos to you, bro. One of the very few advantages of living in the ME is having access to freshly made hummus, mutabbal, baba ghanouj, tabbouleh, and other similar stuff, within walking distance of no matter where you live. Available in restaurants, supermarkets, food stalls, kiosks, etc.Interestingly, what you made is called as "mutabbal" here. Baba Ghanouj here refers to another cold appetizer, also made with eggplant. This one is eggplant (mashed), finely chopped tomato, and lemon juice and herbs/spices. As there is no tahina, it is non-creamy, and therefore quite refreshing.
