So on facebook, this girl (in college) was excited to learn why the ocean is blue, and of course the answer is because the ocean absorbs every other frequency of light except for blue.


While she was absolutely amazed by that... I posed the question:

I'm not quite sure I understand what you are asking but atoms can't "do that". Just like pieces of metal can't drive but a car can.

human intelligence can't be the same entity as atomic intelligence because atoms have more knowledge than humans (they can build a universe from nothing, including humans), yet atoms have no knowledge at all. They merely travel by the forces of nature.

In other words:
If atoms are a material in which to build things
If force is the glue that holds things together
then there must be a thinking thing that put this universe together, since we can follow an atom around forever and it won't do anything constructive since it can't "orchestrate".

You as an entity, and your body, are two separate entities.
Let's face it, you as a thinking thing can point to a flesh wound, but you can't heal it. You wouldn't know where to begin to repair yourself. But your body knows. Give it time, and it'll heal itself. How could you argue that you are smarter or dumber than cells in your own body if you are made of cells in your own body? Why don't you have the same information in your head as the information that is contained in your own body?
