Why are all the subways being ran by middle eastern, and Indian people.

If I want 4 slices of tomatoes instead of 3 on my regular footlong (not $5) I better get it.

The reason a lot of middle eastern people own subways is because it has the lowest cost of entry among franchise establishments. Islam bans usury, which means they can't take loans that require interest. The low cost to start a subway franchise means a few people can pool their money together and pay for one outright.

Christianity used to be anti-usury as well. The modern stereotype of the jewish banker goes back to the middle ages when jews were the only people that loaned money. Rulers would often borrow as much as possible, then when they couldn't pay back their lenders they would start rumors about the jews causing the black death and then expel them from the kingdom.

I've tried that approach with AmEx and they don't fall for it.

Outside of the southeast, I've never been to a Subway owned/run by middle eastern folks. At this point I've eaten at Subways in at least 30 states (as a result of my many long road trips over the years). Everywhere else they are owned by English named folks (who could be any ethnicity of course), since every damn subway has the "owned and operated by: John Doe" its not hard to glance at.

I've read through a Subway Franchise Startup "manual" before (client was contemplated starting one up and wanted me to break it down for him)...and when browsing through the section with locations and owners I noticed an overwhelming percentage of brown owners. If you went somewhere in this country and you there weren't brown people owning a Subway (first of all, why the fuck are you going to Subways all over the country? try some damn local food), then it's because there aren't a lot of brown people in that area.

When driving through po-dunk America on 8 hour a day drives, Subway is one of the few semi-healthy options available. You'd be surprised how many towns only have a choice of McDonalds, Subway or Applebees.
