Passer rating is a goofy made-up stat

Lock this thread on the grounds that suggesting it's a list of the 'top' QBs is intentionally inflammatory

8. Renner: 3 Games 57/70 81.43% 5 TD 4 INT 693 yards 176.73 Rating

24. Glennon: 3 Games 59/92 64.13% 8 TD 1 INT 745 yards 158.67 Rating

Renner has a better completion percentage and that's it...I'd definitely say this is a flawed statistic.

someone learn me. how'd they come up with those coefficients? is there any science to it, or are they just pulled out of someone's ass? is the wral glennon vs wilson jpeg a more accurate indicator of who's better?

It means fuckface over in chapel hill can go 23 of 24 passing for 200 yards to his tailback and TE with no td's can look like a golden god.

Do you honestly believe Wilson would be rated that high on anyone's list if he was NC State's QB this season? He'd be in the low teens at best, and more likely in the mid twenties with commentators continually talking about how he's ok for an "undersized" QB.

What a difference an o-line, competent defensive coaching, and a higher national profile makes!!!

It's Wisconsin dude. What's funny is that Russell Wilson might be the only guy on that team who won't make the NFL. lol. (and he knows it!)

I was hoping he would impress enough people this year that he could squeeze into the second or third round of the draft, but that's definitely a long shot. Unless there's miracle combo of him having a good season, being seriously impressive at the combine, and Cam Newton continuing his current productivity (causing teams to look for scrambling QBs who aren't just overhyped fullbacks like Tebow) he'll be literally overlooked by NFL scouts.

/ see, cuz he's short
// not really, he's listed as 5' 11", which is only short if you're standing next to P.Riv

ding ding ding.

Anyone, who today claims that not having russell wilson is a huge problem for us this year is a fucking moron. We're doomed because we are devastated with defensive injuries and have an idiot for a DC.

Colin cowherd made a comment on his show about the group of QBs this year that will be in the NFL next year - Russell was right in the middle of his list. FWIW

no nfl team gives a shit about a mobile qb. even the greatest one to ever live is mangled after week 2.

this is retarded to even discuss. wilson will not see significant playing time in the nfl, ever. sorry.

How much is significant? Troy Smith has played in several NFL games and even started a few.

Wilson's best hope is to be a Seneca Wallace/Tavaris Jackson type QB. Basically a competent 3rd string QB who can run a little and throw a little, but ultimately will never be anything more than a backup because of his size.

I think Wilson will get drafted though as his Heisman campaign will get him media attention and he'll be worth the risk as a 6th or 7th round pick.

I'd expect Cowherd to say that. He's high on QBs who have played in non-spread and non-option offenses in college (although he lumps a lot of them under "pro style"). Russel Wilson will hopefully have been successful I TWO such offenses by the end of the season. Plus he has a good knowledge of when go pass, when to run, and when to throw the ball away.

Wilson is mobile, but he isn't a run first QB. To say he won't be successful because he is mobile is disingenuous. He's been compared a lot to Drew Brees because of their size and decision making...IF he gets drafted I expect he'll do fine.

Yeah, I'd put money on it. If Jake Delhomme started in the NFL and Tavaris Jackson is starting in the NFL and a slew of other mediocre QBs, why couldn't Russ?
