Basically girl dies from gross negligence on the part of her parents. Social worker and supervisor of social worker are getting charged with criminally negligent homicide. But it sounds like they both did what was in their limited time, budget, and power let them do in this child's case.

I'm not sure it's right to charge social workers with homicide if a child dies. People are crazy and there's just not enough funding and hours in the day to police all the bad parents in the world

“What do you want?” Bell asks through the door.

“I’m a detective,” the woman says. “I’m from the D.A.’s office.”

“For what?”

“Open the door.”"

Rude. "What do you want" I don't give a shit about rude people with no manners.

Ehh, when I lived in New York it was pretty much a well-established fact if an officer was at your door flashing your badge you were about to have a bad rest of the day

It says the bitch clearly didn't pay attention to her case.

Had she done her job, this girl would definitely be alive today.

Doesn't take much to knock on the door and see the condition of a malnourished child.

It takes a while for a malnourished child to die.

This dumb mother fucker is railing on state workers for not being responsible that a child doesn't die but whines when the government raises his taxes to pay for said case workers?

Nice hypocrisy NoSexBoi

Did you bother reading the entire article? It's very tragic that this little girl died, but the social workers did their jobs as the circumstances warranted. It wasn't that social services neglected the case -- they followed up appropriately. The child even saw a doctor prior to her death and the doctor didn't report anything as being amiss. When you're dealing with chronically ill children, it's easy to see how abuse and even malnourishment can go overlooked in a way that it doesn't when healthy children are neglected and abused.

I think that's the hardest for people to understand and probably why these two are facing jail time.

if this much effort was put into prosecuting corrupt/abusive cops, we'd be on to something.

i haven't read the thread, but this is another one of those facepalm statements by this poster

how many people could she have really known that had officers flashing their badge at their door

enough for this (bullshit) to be a "well-established fact"?

"i know a dude that gets disability checks for acid flashbacks lol"
