I've had a TV stand sitting in my family room for a few weeks still in the box. I haven't had the time to put it together, and I don't have the tools needed to assemble it (only basic tools needed). So if there is someone that would like to put it together let me know! Welcome to take it in a truck/SUV (weighs 132lbs, I can help lift it), assemble it on your own time/place and bring it back complete, or do it in my family room. I also need a curtain rod put up - again, very basic, but I don't have a power drill or step ladder to do it (or any chair of that sort to use).

PM a price. Off Tryon Rd., near Crossroads

It's this stand

Could use a handy person to install 2 ceiling fans and install a remote on a current one. Any takers? Tomorrow (Thursday) would be great, could accommodate other dates. PM me or reply here. Location: a few miles south of downtown

Just FYI in the state of North Carolina any electrical work must by law be performed by a licensed electrician. The only exception allows for the actual homeowner, if living in the actual residence, to do their own electrical work and only if the home isn't for sale or lease at least one year after the work is done. Allowing an unlicensed contractor to work on your home makes YOU liable for any resulting damages or injuries. IE an electrical fire that burns down your house won't be covered by insurance and you'll be liable for anyone injured or killed in said fire. Please hire a professional!

Hiring a pro for a ceiling fan is dumb. That is some of the easiest instal around (assuming the box is already there)

^ often times you have to replace the box with one meant for a ceiling fan though. ups the difficulty a fair bit imo.

So are you replacing existing lights with ceiling fans? Are the locations you want the fans already wired? If so, man up and just follow the instructions that come with the fans. It's literally a 15 minute install, and pretty much all you need is a screwdriver and some wire strippers. Shit, if you don't have wire strippers you can use a pair of scissors. If I lived closer I'd do it for the easy money, but you really don't need to hire anyone for this.

But then again, you didn't really need to hire anyone for the entertainment center either. So you may just be lazy/rich.

dswillia I was about to PM you! I was moving into a place and didn't have a few hours to put together a TV stand I needed set up that week. However, dswillia put that thing together like a champ, and after another move still stands strong today

And yes, they would both be going into a place with a ceiling light.

Regarding the fans, one needs a ladder tall enough to get to a spot with a raised ceiling, I don't own a tall ladder and can't fly, so I turned to TWW for a quick fix. And although it may be easy, was trying to help out a student "licensed electrician" (thanks NCSU Hobbit) looking for a few bucks after hours. Still available
