Detroit authorities have thrown the flag on a rowdy party bus operating as a giant mobile strip club that's been entertaining frisky football fans before Lions' home games. Cops in Detroit are looking into the legality of the strip-club-on-wheels that parks in the city's downtown area and opens its doors to patrons in search of a different kind of pre-game show for $10 a pop. The Associated Press reports that the "Booty Lounge," a black and red bus outfitted with two stages, steel stripper poles, tinted windows and a smoke machine, sets up shop near Detroit's Eastern Market on game days and provides pre-game entertainment, for a price. The market is a popular tailgating spot situated about half a mile away from Ford Field. Detroit news station WDIV television broadcast an undercover report from inside the booty bus this week. Local officials say the titillating tailgating scene goes too far. "Its illegal, immoral and unacceptable," city council member Kwame Kenyatta told the station. Kenyatta also said the operation was illegal because the operators didn't have a license to operate its skin shows on city property. The presence of the bus has created a bit of a stir in the Motor City, particularly after photos of two uniformed police officers with a woman suspected to be part of the operation surfaced. Detroit Police spokeswoman Eren Stephens told the AP that the photos are up to four years old, but cops are keeping a close eye on the mobile jiggle joint nonetheless. "Yes it is a concern because, you know, the games are basically for families and to have something like this going on, it is not appropriate," Detroit mayor and Pistons legend Dave Bing told the Detroit Free Press. The bus operators don't seem fazed. A post on the Booty Lounge's Facebook page slammed Councilman Kenyatta, saying "SHAME ON YOU!!! BOOTY LOUNGE IS A DETROIT ICON." The mighty 3-0 Lions are on the road this week in Dallas, but you can bet that cops will be kicking the tires on this bus when the Lions come home to host the Bears on Oct. 10. "We know the game is coming up and ... we're looking into this whole operation," police spokeswoman Eren Stephens said.
