yes, it is technically recyclablei think durham county recycles styrofoam now, but i don't believe wake does

if you are in raleigh, drop it off at the NCSU recycling place off of Sullivan Drive. you might be able to dump the styrofoam off at a UPS store or something, but I doubt it. I know they are happy to take packing peanuts.

Go buy a bottle of acetone. Fill up a jar, and then put in the styrofoam, let it dissolve, then leave it out for the acetone to evaporate... get a sweet little block of polystyrene...
