I thought youtube was using a custom darwin streaming server - meaning all videos should be available for on-the-fly transcoding. Either it's overloaded or they've changed to caching - which would be craaaaazy for the amount of data they have.

^ wouldn't think so. All videos on Youtube carry either the creative commons or the Youtube license.


Unless it's one of those vevo or whatever the music video thing is. Maybe.
