Thinking of getting one, at the most I am cutting radius arms which are pretty thick but usually 1/4 and under chassis parts. The Eastwood Versa Cut is what I am looking at right now ( http://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-plasma-cutter.html ) but I've heard about a really nice small unit made by thermal dynamics? 10/6/2011 11:29:38 AM |

You might want to consider Techshop . . . . rather than buying, you can pay a monthly membership there and use some of their really nice stuff. They have a normal plasma torch, MIG TIG and stick welders, and a massive 12'x8' CNC Plasma table.
Not for everybody, but worth taking a look at (they do tours/etc to give you a feel for the place): http://techshoprdu.com/ 10/8/2011 2:25:25 PM |

I need this for cutting frames and engine mount brackets and stuff not for fabricating anything... an oxy acetylene torch would probably work as well but I dont feel like refilling tanks. 10/11/2011 12:11:11 PM |

We have a Miller Spectrum 875 in the shop and it works pretty damn good but it is also a chunk of change if you not using it all the time.. 10/12/2011 8:46:13 PM |
