Well my school must have still been backwoods (to be fair, rural area I guess).

I mean I'm a 21-year-old undergrad and not only did we get spanked in a public school (at least until first grade--don't remember if there was any after that), but for a while (might have also stopped in first grade) we said a prayer before we went to lunch.
