Outside of the obvious (house, utilities, cars cell phone etc) things that most people pay for, what do you pay for on a monthly/quarterly/yearly/etc basis?
Spotify - $5 per month (can't stand ads) Netflix - $25 per month (soon to be canceled) Pandora - $36 per year (can't stand ads) Planet Fitness - $15 per month (need to see if i can get that changed to $10) Sirius - $0 (would pay monthly/yearly but I bought lifetime a long time ago)] 10/13/2011 3:43:56 PM |

Just curious but why do you pay for both Spotify and Pandora? Aren't they basically the same thing?
We pay for cable but we often end up canceling after a few months and then getting it again after a few months Other than that there's two magazines I subscribe to and that's it. 10/13/2011 4:01:59 PM |

Sorry meant to include that in the original post. Trying to learn what people consider important enough to pay a potentially never ending subscription/fee for. Also I was thinking we might be able to learn about other services out there...

Perhaps...but I haven't used Spotify's radio offering, only their playlist/on demand music. So until I learn that their radio is as good as Pandora's, I'll keep Pandora.]10/13/2011 4:09:01 PM |

Netflix (streaming only) Xbox Live- Price varies on what kind of deal I can get. Currently have membership until August 2013.
TWC Roadrunner (just internet) Two Smartphone lines with unlimited data and 1000 texts/each
I thought about paying for Pandora since I listen to about 80hrs a week. Tcomputer is limited to 40hrs/week of listening, but then Pandora decided to give me unlimited listening for free. I don't mind the ads that much.

-Netflix instant and Xbox Live -Entertainment Weekly - it was only $10/yr. I'll renew it if I can get it around that price. -I pay around $5 for one of those credit monitoring services where you can get your credit report whenever you want and a score and it alerts you if there's any changes.
I'm thinking about paying for a monthly music service after using the free Spotify so much but I haven't researched enough on which service to get. I'm also considering Amazon prime. 10/14/2011 9:04:43 AM |

Netflix Traditional Home Magazine (wife) Decor Magazine (wife) Internet/Cable (for now, but I wouldnt' cry over killing the cable, it just comes with our current place)
I thought about HuluPlus, but found it lacking during the trial. Seriously considered Pandora as well, but I don't use it as much anymore since I don't drive around as much.
Also considering subscriptions to GQ and Garden & Gun magazines. 10/14/2011 5:56:41 PM |

Petsmart wellness plans ; 2 puppies $23 each/month, and an older dog $~40/ month BJ's $50/year
Got rid of Cable, Netflix and Hulu Plus this year. Just paying for internet and local channels, $50/month. I was using a HD antenna instead of paying the $13 for TWC local chanels but had too many issues with my location and getting a good consistent reception on all the channels. Anything not on local channels I get off the internet.

Good call, EMCE. I'm kind of anal about my credit score now after fucking up a bit 8 and 9 years ago... I think that is something that is a very good $10 to spend for EVERYONE. Never know when something incorrect will pop-up on there and lower your score.10/26/2011 1:31:10 PM |

we use the free service through experian. It freezes your credit unless you call with a PIN and authorize a specific company to obtain your credit. It stays open for 24 hours and then closes again. http://www.experian.com/consumer/help/states/nc.html 11/18/2011 2:01:25 PM |
