running the latest snow leopard (10.6.8) on macbook 3.1. older macbook.
both firefox and safari get int their modes sometimes and just redirect every chance they get. even in firefox safe mode. im about to download chrome and give it a try.
i use firefox 99% of the time. the 1% safari is when it opens by default. so im not even sure if downloading chrome will do me any good.
ive ran clamxv and the sophos. nothing has been spotted. is there a deeper malware scanner out there? 10/15/2011 9:38:43 AM |

Check the hosts file (/etc/hosts), your proxy and DNS settings, and iptables.

Also check your router. I've had several experiences where people have hacked the router and changed the DNS there.
