I did that and picked up nothing. My HDTV is about 5-6 years old. Any ideas on how to make it work?

Odd - when I moved into my house a couple of the coaxial weren't hooked up properly because the previous owner had U-verse.

The only thing I can think of is to make sure you run an auto-channel scan. You'll need to do it again if moving from rabbit ears to cable

I will have to try this later. I have TWC internet so maybe it'll work?

Wait, I get basic cable if I only get internet from TWC? This would be nice as I can only pickup CBS/FOX with my antenna.

I am just trying to figure out why it doesn't work for me. Anyone have any suggestions? I have tried the obvious channel search via the Air. Can you guys get channel 2 with this method?

IIRC you have to select cable instead of antenna for the ota channels to be found. i am paying for cable now and can't check

Plug your modem into the outlet where your TV is and make sure it can work there - if not you have a bad outlet.

My modem was downstairs and then I moved it upstairs about a week ago, so as far as I can tell there is nothing wrong with the outlet I was getting internet just fine before I moved.

It works I just did not see the message int he bottom of the screen 'Detecting CH Frequency Mode' then it changes to 'Now tuning channels automatically'. However I can't get WRAL, ABC, FOX50, or Channel 22 or 24 (its only one of them I just don't recall which one).

So, I had major success in one room...got the normal 100 or so non-HD channels and then got all the locals/CW/etc....then in another room literally all I got was 17-1.

I'm assuming I've just pushed the limits as far as power and maybe a booster would seal the deal?

Yeah, would a booster really help? If so I would be willing to invest if it would be consistent and I never have to really bother with channel searching again.

Antenna Web said you should not use any amplifiers with the 'Yellow' channels (5.1, 11.1, 22.1 and a few others). Try removing or reducing the amplification and see what happens.

it might be your tuner is bad.

happened on my vizio.

We are using the OTA channels now.

I had no idea basic cable was included with internet though...I need to look into that.

It runs through the modem?

Yeah, I got 5-1 on the tv it worked with. I'm assuming TV has something to do w/ it as well? The tv that worked was a Samsung and the one that didn't is a Viore(not sure who makes it)....

yeah. the individual tuner or hookup can vary.

I got none on my vizio...got a $3 antenna off amazon and now I get about 15 channels OTA.

None of the basic non-HD though...Havent heard this scenario about plugging in with RR and getting channels.

someone explaint that please.

Don't think it's my Tuner. Both my TVs lost 5 and 50. Also, my mom's house doesn't get 5-1/50-1 anymore.

What's interesting is I get 11-1 now.

Ok...I did the old cable/internet coax to the back of the TV
I actually get Comedy Central and others but they are fuzzy

CSPAN QVC etc are good quality but not channels i want to see.

any help?

could it be I need a better splitter? or is TWC making them scrambled on purpose? a signal booster was talked about in here...would that do it?

point is, I have the capability obviously...just need further instruction

tried splitting the line through the directv splitter to run into each rooms jack...and I lost channel 5 as well.

weird...if i go through the straight TWC line, i get all the others

with this route(splitting) I only get about half those channels.

What i really want is ESPN and others since I get comedy central but its fuzzy...what do i need to do to get it to come in more clear? if anything.

Tired this last night. I could only get Shopping Channels, ION and NBC clear to come through.

Any ideas on how to amplify the signal to get more channels?
