^it's allright, as long as 99% of the money made from an iPhone sale goes to 1% of people responsible for making it.

Not being a fanboy and nothing to laugh at. There are multiple indicators to measure success, and market share is only one of them. US-based Apple or, for example, Japanese Panasonic may still get a higher profit margin than the Lenovo, and possibly have higher net profit with a smaller market share. Intel and AMD are still US companies last time I checked. Yes, chinese are starting to pass us in numberous high-tech markets, but it is mostly due to cheap labor, government subsidies, adn economies of scale (see solar panel manufacuring and ongoing Solyndra hearings)

hell Nokia may still be #1 in market share but how much longer can they last hawking basic handsets to the developing world? Not there is anything wrong with roducing cheap handsets, it just not exactly an innovative agenda

The cheap Chinese labor isn't going to last forever. Their wages are going through the roof right now. Eventually it will become cheaper to build shit in another country and then (assuming China can make the transition to a consumer nation) we will get to make fun of another country for being the world's sweatshop for the next 30 years.

LOL. Attempts at reducing their suicide rates?

It'll be interesting to see if they stick to the 1million robots estimate. I wonder if they're able to do that just because the iPhone has reached such a high volume of sales.

Nokia's future rests on the success of Windows Phone 7, and they've got some really nice phones coming out soon.

They are basically owned my Microsoft now.
