I never usually took my wallet out of my back pocket (and it's not really good for your back to sit on a thick wallet all day long). For me, the money clip is a lot thinner/more comfortable.

Also, I had a bad habit of keeping my receipts in my wallet and forgetting to ever take them out. A money clip with limited space kind of forces me to keep myself "lean"

I carry an open top LL Bean canvas tote. All of my stuff stays in the tote all of the time, the kids stuff is all packed into the wet bag (which is basically a gallon ziplock bag) and I pull out the wet bag with the kids stuff whenever they're not with me or I'm leaving them with someone. Added: and now that we have a van, I'm able to leave a lot of random kid stuff in the car instead of hauling it all with me.

i use it for work. we have 4 office-owned thumb drives but people keep stealing them. i bought a cheap one & keep it with me so i don't have to rely on work having one. i use it to move big files (usually a pptx + folder with a bunch of pics) to a macbook that won't play well with our wifi network, and for them to take w/ them to presentations (to transfer the presentation to the client's computer/projection system and/or as backup in case they mess up the copy stored on the macbook - yes my bosses have been known to do this before).
