Didn't see a thread for this, but I wanted to see if anyone has been playing AC:AH. It's gotten a fair amount of player criticism for integrating helicopter and bomber assault missions, but I found them entertaining enough. They introduced a "dogfight" mode that brings a little bit of "cinematic action game" feel to it... more than the original, at least.
They also watered down the story (which was always fairly heavy in the previous version) and moved the setting from the imaginary world they've always used to modern day earth (US, Middle East, Russia, France).
I really enjoy the online modes as well, and there seems to be more activity and available rooms than I ever saw in AC6.
If anybody plays, speak up. I have some questions about strategy for some of the online modes. It's worth picking up if you enjoyed the previous games, or enjoy flight games. This one's much less a combat flight sim than the previous releases, and seems to bridge the gap between those releases and a game in the Battlefield or CoD series.

I miss Air Warrior (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_Warrior) so much I wonder if this game is anything like it. 10/30/2011 11:52:06 AM |

I don't know if it's exactly the same, but here's a video of the team-based HQ assault online mode.

You can change the viewpoint as well if the over-the-shoulder isn't your type of thing. You can have an in-cockpit viewpoint as well as a 1st person view where you don't see the plane, only the surroundings. 10/30/2011 12:02:00 PM |

I didn't know they finally released this game. I'll definitely be getting it, not sure for 360 or PS3, but I am a huge fan of the AC series.] 10/30/2011 4:30:40 PM |

Tried the demo on PS3. Feels scripted and unrealistic. Anyone ever play Lock-On back in the day for PC? Now that was a good combat sim. 10/30/2011 6:49:37 PM |

Yep, just tried the demo. The DogFightMode is a piece of shit. Doesn't feel anything like the previous games. What a letdown. 10/30/2011 9:06:21 PM |

I didn't like it at first. It grew on me. I do wish they kept more true to the original style, but I can tolerate it. Problem is, I think most of the people like it, which means they may keep it. Hopefully not. 10/30/2011 9:42:32 PM |

I have read that there is NO flight stick compatibility with this game. That really kills my interest in it... 10/31/2011 8:31:41 AM |
