I've started thinking about what I'm going to get people


Like my dad has this really old Japanese cookbook that he absolutely loves. But its falling apart but he said he doesn't want a new copy (I don't even know if its still in print) b/c this old one has a lot of memories in it. Lots of stains from cooking and post-it notes w/ helpful hints on a lot of the pages. So I'm going to try and get the book re-bound. As the pages are no longer attached to the outer cover at all

^ I did that for my mom one year with an old cookbook she has. Snuck it out of the house before Christmas, had it rebound, then wrapped it up and put it under the tree. Probably one of the best gifts I've ever given her.

I already bought most of occamsrezr's presents. No idea what to do for my family, especially extended family.

i've started shopping. i bought my husband something bc i had a coupon for that day only. i bought one of my bosses a coffee mug at pier1 that i knew she'd like. this is the earliest i've ever done any xmas shopping.

I'll be back in NC as usual for Christmas, so I only got the decorations when I went home but last year I decided to get a tree etc to set up so I can enjoy the whole season even if i'm not here.

I got my Grandmother a Lavender Spa gift basket
I got my Grandfather a book about a plane he worked on when he was in the military and I'll probably get him a model of the plane as well.
My Mom wants a pair of shoes and I'll probably get her something else as well
My brother is going to get new glasses
and my boyfriend is getting.... nvm.

I was thinking of getting Omaha Steaks for my dad or wireless radio speakers.

The thing I'm looking forward to the most this Christmas is putting up my Moravian star on the front porch. I got it as a gift years ago, but never had a proper front porch. This year it's going up

Oh and baby's first christmas yadda yadda

But no decorations til after thanksgiving. I may start shopping though. We gotta set a budget first.

^We bought my sis-in-law and her husband 2 tix to the show. we got them the $55 ones. They love Roger Waters but couldn't afford to buy the tickets for themselves.

My brother said he wants some North Face gloves that you can wear and still use the touchscreen on the iphone. So I'll probably pick those up for him and I already have a Honey Badger tshirt for him
