Some of you may be familiar with the Austin Android BBQ: http://bigandroidbbq.com/

We are trying to plan one here in Raleigh. Likely locations are going to be Natty Greene's (should have several rooms, with companies, developers and themers) and Pullen Park for the BBQ + bluegrass music. There may be a themed party, perhaps a bar crawl. Not sure yet.

Anyway...

I wanted to solicit feedback... what area companies do you think may have interest in helping sponsor the event?

HTC is nearby... so is Swype... could likely get a forum like XDA or RootzWiki..

There are a lot of smaller companies around here that I may not know who help develop for Android. THOSE are the people I want to know about.

Thanks!

I will post more information when I can (very open to new ideas right now).

Awesome.

I am happy to report WE ARE HAVING A RALEIGH BBQ.

Android's East Coast BBQ

Date will be May 12th.

We are currently working on who to solicit and the structure of the event, but the plan is pretty solid. We have already heard back from several companies that have expressed interest. I will update this thread once we have an official site and the ticket pricing (should be much cheaper than the Austin BBQ).

Thanks guys!

PLEASE KEEP THE SUGGESTIONS FOR LOCAL COMPANIES THAT SHOULD BE INVOLVED COMING! I REALLY DO WANT TO PROMOTE RALEIGH AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE

Nice. I barely know what I'm doing tomorrow much less 6 months down the road. CTIA is the week before and CES/MWC will have already happened so looks like a good time.

Add to my topics.

I do not work in wireless anymore, but I still love beer and BBQ.

I prefer pork bbq. Android bbq tastes like circuit boards.

Is this going to be a gingerbread based BBQ? Because everyone knows that ice cream sandwich based BBQ is the best.
