well, reading the story it's easy to see why they won...they used the "high school" 7th and 8th graders on the team.

I coach middle school basketball. There will be teams that suck. We beat a team by 40 last year, and people were pissed.
Also, we're not allowed to have 6th graders on the team.

Sometimes a team is so bad things like this can't be avoided. What did they want you to do, dribble out the shot clock each possession once you were up by 20? The kids would surely pick up on any attempt to play down to them, so those precious little egos would be just as hurt.

It is straight up bullshit when a coach gets in trouble for running up the score. If the other team cannot stop them, then oh fucking well. Oh man, I just went back and read the article. Just looking at the link I thought they were talking about firing the coach and cancelling the season for the team that only scored 2 points, not the team that scored 100.

^^^We took all the starters halfway through the 3rd quarter, put our normal benchwarmers in, and still outscored them. We didn't press the entire 2nd half. And no, there wasn't a shot clock either. This team made the playoffs, and we beat them by about 25 then.
