Zobo has to come up big for us.

First of all, he has to control Tyshawn Taylor. No small order.

Second of all, he can't be a game manager we need his scoring too bad.

I'm looking for 18 points, 5 reb, 6 ast, 2 stl, 3 to from him with 7/12 FG, 3/4 FT, 1/2 3's.

Give a dawg a ZOBONE

^he had a great end of the season, but I think he is still too inconsistent to get drafted in the first round. And you have to be not very bright to leave for a non guaranteed contract.

I agree to an extent, but Winston's YWCA is actually really nice.

And Zo can dribble the hell out of two basketballs apparently

Zo is amazing when he is hitting that floater.

He'll always be turnover-prone, like Leslie is and Hodge and Melvin were back in the day. He plays fast and loose, and sometimes that can be a double-edged sword. But like with Hodge, you gotta take the good with the bad and let him do his thing. Especially when he is scoring at will, like today.

Most good players turn the ball over a shitload. That just comes with the territory.

Most good players don't shoot 35%, however. Good to see that the Zolock is improving on that

He's got to stop trying to cross people over when he's being guarded tightly. He's too tall and his handle is too loose for that. Last night he tried and got the ball swatted; it then bounced off his knee out of bounds.

Overall though, really good game for Zo -- that floater is deadly. Just wish he could hit open 3's more consistently.

Honestly, I think he tries a lot harder on defense than it seems. The problem is he's 6'5 and not overly quick, so he has trouble staying in front of his man. Most of the PGs he matches up with are a lot smaller and usually quicker than him. They make him look like he's not trying as hard sometimes.

His length usually makes up for it, and he seems to really lock in some times, but he's just not built to be a lock-down defender at PG. I'd still rather have him leading the team than just about anyone else in America.

Zojangles signature seasoned assists might be leading the ACC but I agree, sometimes his greasy napkin defense needs work

Why do people keep saying this? Brown is quick as shit. No, he's not Purvis quick, but he's long enough to make up for it. Brown doesn't have any problem staying in front of small, quick guards. His only problem (and basically is our whole team's defensive problem), is defending through, or off of, screens.

Our team is long and athletic enough to be a really good defensive team. We should maybe have trouble with a really good big men...but that's it. We shouldn't be so shitty guarding the perimeter...but we are horrible in defending screens. Granted...every team uses screens because they work...but they can be defended and we are just not good at it.

^^^People keep saying it because he's not that quick ... compared to me and you he is, but compared to a lot of other ACC point guards, he's not. He's agile and fluid, and he's got good ups, but he's not overly quick. Watch his feet on defense ...

I do...and he's quick. GT's point guard didn't get by him once last night.

The taller you are, the less "quick" you seem and in general, it's always going to take taller/longer people slightly longer to make certain moves. But at the same time, their length makes up for it.

Zo's length and quickness is enough to keep 99% of NCAA point guard in front of him. End of discussion.

As a side note, he does seem to be a little lazy fighting through screens and getting to an open defender. That also makes him look a little slow. But our team as a whole is pretty bad at both of those things.

Regardless of how slow you think Brown is, white, pimple-faced, Boston college guards should not be blowing by him for easy layups.

He just gets upright and has poor footwork on defense. That's all. It's not a terminal problem, just a chronic one.
