Didn't watch the clip, but "the right" has been aggressively and continuously pushing the whole "public schools are indoctrinating our children" bullshit for several years now and it seems in the past 6 months I can't turn the radio to a right wing talk show and not hear them remind me how my children and going to grow up as Marxist loving hippie freaks as if I have literally no say in how they are raised.

Wow. An analyst from the MRC, with the mission statement of "prove — through sound scientific research — that liberal bias in the media does exist and undermines traditional American values" believes a movie that uses an archetypal villian that has been used hundreds of times in the past and through an over-analysis of a fucking children's movie has a "liberal bias" is fuckin' amazing!

^^Honestly it's not really fair to call the new Muppets movie a kid's movie, I think they've pretty much outright said that they know their core audience will be adults.

The wife took the boys to see the movie. She said the movie was good (singing, acting, etc.), but did not like the premise of the film. I asked the boys to explain it, and they told me pretty much what the OP clip showed. Some BIG BAD GUY wanted to buy the Muppet Theater BECAUSE OF OIL.



So I explained to them that they couldn't go to a movie without oil, they couldn't eat anything out of plastic bowls without oil, they couldn't fly in airplanes without oil, etc. I told them that there are people in the world that sometimes don't care about animals and want oil anyway, even though they can get the oil in places where animals don't live (ANWR).

Just like Happy Feet, Happy Feet Two, Cars 2.

Maybe we'll stop going to movies altogether.

Because this is pretty ridiculuous.
