We have a woman in my office that commutes to Durham from Greensboro. Whenever the schools in Greensboro have a teacher workday, or her kid is sick, or whatever, she drags her kids in for the entire day. Usually her kids are quiet but I kind of feel bad for them because it has to be boring as hell. Apparently this all came to be when she used to work from home on teacher workdays but then someone else in the office got all pissy that she was getting "special treatment." Now nobody is allowed to work from home

I now have a weekly coloring contest with a child that comes in our office.

I always lose because he pitches a fit if he doesn't win....but this kid needs to learn a lesson

I mean I colored the Cocoa Badger and everything

My losing entry:

His winning entry:

you should challenge that kid to a stippling contest. That'll keep him busy.

The cocoa badger doesn't just win, that's a motherfucking fatality.

that should give you rights to give this kid an atomic wedgie every time you see him.

Kids are always up in here, its the worst. One of the partners has this punk 6 year old named Lyle who always steals my good pens so I'm left with these piece of shits that dont write. Furthermore, his sister Leslie loves to hide under my desk and scare the shit out of me. I swear to god one day I'm just going to grab them both by their collars and throw them off the balcony.

my officemate's daughter is very cute. I really do not care for kids, but I let her play with these plastic bugs I have in my office... and she can now tell me the scientific name for them.

and then she names them after sponge bob characters and talks to them.

Luckily my work at my desk is pretty dull, so I like to take a break. She is a better officemate then some of the other people in here. My office mates socialize and gossip a lot, that is when I leave and do lab work.

not quite, writing a thesis and running statistics over and over again because you can't figure out why SAS hates you is not that great. But the little girl makes me laugh.

I have another losing entry This kid loves Star Wars, so I caved and we had a drawing contest. I entered this, and it lost because Yoda isn't wearing the correct colors. No shit...this is Yoda's bitch named Yodette. She likes pink!

We need to bring back Terry Tate. He'd smash this kid into the wall and scream "THEY AIN'T YOUR PENS, LYLE! YOU DON'T COME UP IN HERE AND TAKE A MANS PENS!"

there was a kid in our office like a year ago or something

Maybe 7 or 8 years old. Anyway, he thought that he could just jump on any computer that wasn't being used (like you were away at lunch or in a meeting). Anyway, long story short. He went on some game site that his big brother had told him about and ended up getting a virus.

The person whose computer he used got pretty pissed. But now she knows to sign off her account if he's in the office

it's against company policy to bring children into our office. sometimes a spouse will pop in with a coworker's kid so people can see them for a hot minute but they're pretty strict about the no kid thing.

It's true. Any kids in her office over 10 minutes and they're dragged out back and shot in the face.
