Seems like they just looked over their registrations. Political parties mean little in many circumstances, as quite a few southern/country people are listed as (D) but vote (R). I'm sure there are some that are the opposite, but I don't think it's on the same scale.

This kid from Silver Spoons is a Republican? Color me shocked!!!!

Not that it matters how they're registered. My mother-in-law is registered Republican but hasn't voted for a Republican in a major election in her life. Also, I thought I remembered Hulk Hogan stumping for some Republican presidential candidate at some point in the last 15 years, but I could be wrong about that.

Agreed. I know of a few local politicians registered (D), but who have never voted for a Dem President and rarely vote (D) Gov.

It might have changed, but when I turned 18 there was an Independent Party operating in NC, so registering Independent just set you up with them (but you're not much younger than me so I doubt it changed that quickly)

If they fell apart though it might have switched everyone over to unaffiliated.

I honestly have no idea.

There are five registration options in the State of North Carolina: Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Unaffiliated, and Other.
