that's the rub. NO congress would EVER be stupid enough to pass half of his requests. All the stuff he could executive order in would be 99% inconsequential. I say go for it. No one could do worse than the current.

Whatever the outcome from the next election season I hope we've all learned our lesson and balance the power in washington - giving both houses and the executive branch to one party is always a bad idea. I also hope these tea party douchebags start playing politics a little. Nothing wrong with some compromise and making a deal for the benefit of the nation instead of the handful of people that voted for you.

The President can bring all troops home. The President can stop federal enforcement of bad laws, including the War on Drugs, invasions of civil liberties by the TSA and other agencies, and veto bullshit legislation such as NDAA, SOPA.

I don't want to hear that the President can't do anything. The President has a shitload of power - it's not just the office, it's all the agencies controlled by it.

It's more than that, though. The election of Ron Paul would represent a firm rejection by the people of the political establishment. It would mark a major turn in history. It would be mark the end of the era of the U.S. military empire. It would also likely mark a major shift in the global monetary and economic order.
